Bethells beach is a 40 minute drive from Auckland, located on New Zealands rugged west coast. As you pull into the car park you'll happen across a true little oasis in the middle of nowhere, the Bethells Beach Cafe. Open from Labour weekend until Queens Birthday weekend, Thursday until Sunday, they serve fantastic beach fare, great pizza, home baked cakes, savories, and delicious burgers all out of their eclectic kitchen trailer .
A great place to take the kids, and while it's a long walk to the beach itself, it's well worth it to feel the hot kiwi sun and west coast wind in your face. The thought of a natural peach ice block is enough motivation to make the stroll back, and the cafe is the perfect place to grab some shade and take some time to relax. Well worth a visit, the Bethells Beach Cafe is a true midsummer kiwi beach experience.
