Crab, Tomato, Mussel, Cockle, Prawn and Snapper Soup

This is a simple and delicious traditional fish soup with no stock. The natural seafood flavors are drawn from the cooking of the crab, mussels, cockles and prawns. I add red wine vinegar, red tomato, onion, garlic, basil and a handsome measure of a well bodied chardonnay . The snapper is basically added in the last few minutes so that it remains soft and tender....
....sometimes on a cold winters day, I will add spaghetti to the recipe to produce a hearty seafood marinara.
